Ingredients

8 oz.

unsalted butter, softened

2 tsp.

vanilla extract

12 oz.

powdered sugar

Method

Mix butter on medium-high speed using the paddle.

When the butter is very soft, add vanilla extract.

Reduce the speed of the mixer to medium. Add the powdered sugar slowly. If the powdered sugar splashes out of the bowl, reduce the speed of the mixer and add the powdered sugar slower.

**The buttercream is done once all the powdered sugar in combined with the butter. Refrigerate at or below 41°F (5°C) until service.
